Mission Reports - Simply type in the mission's name and hit search. Select the mission and fit your ship accordingly based on A) Damage Dealt B) Recommended Damage.
Tanking Guide - This gives a breakdown for damage types of each faction and a basic fitting for actively tanking said factions. This guide also lists damage profiles needed for EFT calculations for damage resistances.
EFT - Much needed stand alone program that calculates ship fittings. You can select ships, modules, skills, and various other things to see how your ships fitting meets your needs or to plan for future ships.

Asteroids, What Are They Worth? - A windows program similar to EFT as it analyzes your inventory and compares your ore's market value and refine value allowing you to get a quick glance as to whether it's more profitable to refine or to sell.
Those are pretty standard and will allow you to get a solid footing in the door for both Missions and Mining in the universe known as EVE Online.
